Citizens will be able to participate in small, round-table group discussions in one of the following areas: housing; education; social services; jobs and economic development; and sustainability. The intent is for each group to assess the needs of flood impacted neighborhoods and develop workable solutions that will help to stabilize and strengthen these communities. Outcomes from the workshops will be included in the Long Term Recovery Plan (LTRP) for Nashville and Davidson County.

Community Conversation with Mayor Karl Dean. The Nashville Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) invites the public to learn about major regional transportation planning efforts and important related changes to public policy. This will be an in-depth presentation with questions and comments on proposed infrastructure investments to support the livability, sustainability, prosperity, and diversity of the region as a whole, as well as that of individual counties of residence.The MPO is currently finalizing a major update to its multi-billion dollar regional transportation plan that includes a vast scope of federally-funded transportation projects. The MPO sets aside money for projects that support significant policy initiatives such as mass transit--including modernized options for Middle Tennessee such as streetcar or Bus Rapid Transit, walkable/bikeable communities, and roadway technologies to keep people and goods moving through the region. Awards Ceremony for TN Redistricting: Map It Out!. A reception from will welcome League members, Legislators, and Map It Out! participants. The Award Ceremony begins at 6:00 pm. Twenty maps were submitted by high school students and individuals. Awards will be presented for the best Tennessee House map, the best Tennessee Senate map, the best Tennessee U.S. Congressional map, and the best high school overall package including all three maps.
